Get excited! The Burnt Cedar Pool Opens May 11!
The Pool will be open 9:30am to 6:00pm Saturday, 5/11 and Sunday, 5/12. The pool will be closed for unexpected, but necessary maintenance on Monday, 5/13 through Friday, 5/17. The pool will open again on Saturday, 5/18 at 9:30am.

Tai Chi with Dave Norehad
Now- June 26, 2019
Dave Norehad has studied and taught Tai Chi for over 12 years under the guidance of Master Willie Lim of Classical Dimensions, based in Arizona. Dave’s Tai Chi Chuan l Chi Gung Training will focus on the Yang style short form. Dave is a third generation student/trainer in the lineage of Master Cheng and is also an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Fitness Instructor.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Class
Deadline to Register: May 24, 2019
This sanctioned course encompasses: Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, & AED Certifications. All applicants must be able to pass a skills pre-requisite swim test. Must attend all classes to be eligible for final exam.
When: Saturdays, May 25, June 1 & 8
Time: 1-7pm
Location: Recreation Center Pool
Fees: $205, $165 w/ IVGID
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Class

Learn to be a Water Safety Instructor and teach swim lessons. This class breaks down each stroke and trains you to teach swimming to anyone. Ages 16+ years.

FREE Functional Movement Active Workshop

Join trainer Kimberly Koschmann in the Rec Center Rear Gym for a FREE Functional Movement Active Workshop designed to prevent injury, improve bone density, flexibility, balance and quality of life. Movement drives health; however, unhealthy movement can put negative stress on the body. For most, that stress can lead to pain, discomfort, inflammation and progressive joint degeneration. Long term issues in the kinetic chain lead to a diminished desire and ability to exercise. Increasing functional movement and maintaining Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) within the proper range of motion, is key to a healthy, independent, pain free life. Don’t miss this beneficial workshop.

55+ Summer Hiking Series
The 55+ Hiking Series begins April 30. Sign up soon! Meet at the Recreation Center at 8:15am with a sack lunch for a prompt 8:30am departure for the first hike of the season! Hikes are scheduled every Tuesday through October to various destinations around the Tahoe area. Bring a friend! Meet new people, get some exercise, and learn new trails!
